LECTURE

For this weeks lecture, Ms Jinchi talked about Observation. She mentioned that observation is an important part of a designer. She continued on by explaining what we have to do for our second project which is Sense Of Place whereby we have to create a design of a place that we have an emotional attachment towards the place.

IDEATION

Before coming up with an idea for my Sense of Place project I decided to look into some photos I took when I went for holidays before the huge pandemic happened. Among all of the holidays I've been on, I decided on going with the one I went with my relatives where we went to Port Dickson which we rented a huge holiday villa called Temasek Retreat and stayed together. The reasons why I chose this is because this holiday was one of the last memories I had with my grandfather before he fell ill and passed a month ago. Another reason I chose this holiday is that I celebrated News Years with my relatives there hoping that the year 2020 would turn out to be amazing but not knowing that there would be a lot of challenges that we will face after leaving the place. The photos below are some photos that I took while I was on holiday. 


             

            

                     

After finding my idea I decided to start sketching out my design. For this design, I decided to sketch out myself looking over the balcony of the room I stayed at and reminisce some of the best memories I had of the place. Before making a sketch I decided to look over other designs that are drawn from balcony view to use as references.

FEEDBACK

The idea for the design is already there just that I need to improve it better

REFLECTION

I actually had a hard time coming with an idea for this project but after looking over a lot of visual references and some help from others I was able to come up with my final artwork
