LECTURE
Week 1:
For our first-ever class, Ms Anis, as well as Mr Shamsul, briefed us on what we are expected to do for the next 7 weeks of the semester. Below shows the exercises and assignment brief given by Ms Anis.
INSTRUCTION
Exercise 1: Quantity & Visualize Data
For this exercise, we are required to create a design of an infographic with everyday objects that we own in an A4 paper by quantifying and visualizing the everyday objects. Some of the examples that were given to us are buttons, origami stars and lego but we are free to choose any object of our choice
Figure 1 Markers Collection
After categorizing the pens by colour I started by counting out the total of the pens in each category and the overall total of the pen.
Figure 1.1 Markers arrangement
Based on the picture above I was able to number out the number of pens based on their colour categories as well as the number of sides it has

Figure 1.2 Data of My Marker Collection
After collecting my data I decided to sketch out a design idea for how I would put out my Visualized Data.
Figure 1.3 Design Idea
Based on the above sketch I decided to do a colour code gradient on the end of the page to indicate the colour and to arrange my markers in a horizontal order to ensure that the markers I own could fit on the page. I also decided to add the extra details of the marker beneath each of the coloured markers.
Finally, after planning out my design I started with my design for the colour gradient I decided to use watercolours because it seems to be easier to give the blending effect and I am still quite a beginner with art and design.
Figure 1.4 Final Product
After getting feedback from Ms Anis, I added in the details that I have forgotten to add in my name and a subheading I added it in and finally came up with this.

Exercise 2: L.A.T.C.H (Location, Alphabet, Time, Category, Hierarchy)
For this exercise, we are required to design a digital A4 infographic chart applying L.A.T.C.H. Some examples that were given to us are Pokemon characters, Dinosaurs as well as Bestiary but we are free to choose any topic of our choice
With the number of topics to choose from, I decided to narrow down some of the topics that I find would be interesting for me to do as an infographic
- Balanced Diet
- NCT group concept
- Dinosaurs
- Pokedex
From the following topics, I decided to go with the NCT group concept because I am very well knowledge of the topic and also felt that it would be an interesting topic to be made into an infographic.
NCT Group Concept
After doing some extra research and adding in the personal knowledge I have of NCT I drew out a basic summary as to how their concept looks like.

After writing out the information that I can collect on NCT I decided to sketch out ideas on how I'm gonna create my infographic design.
For my first idea, since NCT has a lot of foreign members I decided to draw out the world map, highlight some of the parts of the map where the members are from and add in the member's pictures to show which of the members are from where with a bit of detail about them. I also decided that since not all of them debuted in the same year I'm gonna do colour coded highlight around the member's pictures to show the year that debuted in.
After sketching out the idea I had in mind I started off by drawing out the world map and highlighting only the parts of the countries that the members are from.

I continued on by adding in the members based on where they come from as well as add in their names, the year they were born and also highlighted out the year they debuted.

Finally, after adding extra information to my infographic I came out with my final design

FEEDBACK
Week 1General Feedback:
Ms Anis looked over our Exercise 1 Quantify and Visualizing platform

Specific Feedback:
Ms Anis looked over my Exercise 1 design and actually liked it just that I needed to add a subtopic and my name

REFLECTION
Exercise 1:
While I was doing this exercise, I never knew I was capable of actually producing the work that I did. It may not be that great but I was quite happy as to how my final design turned out.
Exercise 2:
I never knew that a topic of my own interest could be made into an infographic. Even though, I had a tuff time completing this exercise I really enjoyed doing it as I was able to create a design based on a topic of my own interest.
